Urgency and Scarcity may not mean anything special to an average person, but in the “world of marketing,” they are some of the commonly used tools in the marketer’s took kit. You must create urgency and scarcity so that people buy your products/services sooner, tomorrow, today, and better yet… Right NOW.
The latter makes even more sense if you market your product/service on the Internet, because of one fact…
Painful FACT: Your visitors may not revisit your web site or see your sales letter ever again.
How do you get more buyers today?
You must use a Limited Time Offer. Limited time offers stop people from putting off buying your products or services. It stops them from procrastinating by instilling the feeling of urgency and scarcity…
There are many different types of limited time offers.
Let me introduce you today to four main ones:
Limited Time Price Offers
Example:
Order Now! While the price is still low.
After July 12, 2009 this price will go up to [Insert Higher Price]
Limited Time Discount Offers
Example:
Order before Midnight, July 12, 2009 and you will get 25% Discount!
Limited Time Free Bonus Offers
Example:
Order before July 12, 2009 and you will get a FREE Bonus!
Limited Time In Stock Offers
Example:
Order Now! While supplies last!
After July 12, 2009 we can’t guarantee we will have any left in stock.
I am not telling you that every single person is going to order the first time they see your ad or sales letter. Not everybody is going to be interested in your product or service.
However, there are going to be really targeted prospects (a marketing term describing a potential customer) who will be interested in buying your product at some time in the future. Adding these Limited Time Offers to your sales letter or ad will make sure those targeted prospects don’t put off buying your product/service.
This means that your ad’s or sales letter’s conversion rate will most likely increase after you implement one of the Limited Time Offers described above.
Example: If you say, “This special offer will not be available after July 12, 2009,” then you should not offer the same special offer after July 12, 2009. Otherwise, you are playing with your credibility, which might come back and bite you in the long run.
