Strategic Internet Marketing Explained

By Sanjana Antony

Strategic Internet marketing is simply to put marketing to work for you in as strategic way as possible. One way of strategic marketing is for web e-commerce. You do strategic marketing by answering one simple question: What are the needs of my prospects and how do I serve that need? This is the golden rule to strategic marketing on the internet. Before you buy a domain or design your advertising, you must know what the needs of your prospects are and how to meet those needs. Use one word to describe your business such as fishing, for example.

Use keywords in AdWords that will give you some keywords that will be used when someone is looking up your business. Next you will create your brand. Your brand identifies you as unique and special. The way to do this is by search engine optimization. You will build your sites with every optimized phrase and get them ranked. Using a tool such as Word Tracker is a benefit, as it will give you the hottest phrases that have been searched for over the last 30 days. Some advertising avenues that you want to think about is the pay per click (PPC) and Search engine optimizing (SEO). Each one has its advantages but one disadvantage is the inability to use the keyword or phrase correctly.

One of the next things that you will do is to analyze your competition. Pick apart their websites and their advertisements. Identify the leaders in your particular field. Then analyze the top 10 competitors for your type of business. See what they have to offer, what holes you could fill, how competitive your prices are and figure out their strategy. By doing this, you will give yourself information on how your competitors have their sites set up. This information could give you the boost that you are looking for.

Your analysis of the competition will include their indexes. By checking a public index, you will have some idea of how and where they are ranked. To do this, simply find out how many pages are ranked on a search engine. This will give you some idea of what meta tags and other information is being given on a web site. You will also need to check your own traffic logs in order to properly analyze the data that is being put there. A visitor is a click from somewhere to your website. A hit is a click on anywhere on the page.

These are just some of the strategic internet marketing tips that can be found with a little searching.
